Federal Government 500,000 Jobs for Youth under NYIF
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, along with its Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), has announced plans to empower more than five million youth in the Shomlu area of Lagos State.
The Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Ravibar Sahasi, said that NYIF, approved in July 2020, would invest in the innovative skills, initiatives, and talents of Nigerian youth.
The minister made the remarks at an interactive session on the formation of a youth cluster on the Shomolu Federal Constitution in Lagos a few days ago.
In his words: “The N755 billion fund is expected to last for three years. The fund is an investment in innovative skills, initiative, and talent for Nigerian youth. It comes with a five percent interest rate and a two-year moratorium.” This is the first of its kind for Nigerian youth
Earlier, Admorin Quay, a member of the House of Representatives of the Shomolu Federal Constituent Assembly, said he was creating a Shomolu Youth Forum that would include the minister’s special allies to bring the federal government closer to the people.
“There are a lot of graduates out there who are looking for a white-collar job, they must own a job. There is a window of opportunity but they don’t have the information. We gave them the information and we gave them hope and confidence again. Survived. In this youth,” he said.
According to him, “the interactive session is to make sure that our youth are back and we have heard their cries. Now is the time for us to take everything with them.”
He said NYIF is a free tool that will help young people get involved in their business as long as they can come up with a viable business offer.
“The federal government has recently approved free registration of business names exclusively for young people. Young people should get 250/000 business names for free,” he said.
He assured that his Constituent Assembly would ensure that only serious-minded young men and women could enter the NYIF. This says that the youth has been strictly chosen and chosen.
