Federal Ministry of Education – Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) is a federal government agency. This agency was introduced as a reform program by the Federal Government of Nigeria, whose main objective is to further enhance the quality of basic education throughout Nigeria.
Applications are invited from all eligible candidates for recruitment to the Federal Teacher Scheme (FTS) during the 2020/2021 service period.
The FTS is a biennial intervention program established by the federal government in 2006 to help states overcome teacher shortages at the primary education level.

The federal government will pay an allowance of N 30,000.00 per month to each participant.
Only candidates who fulfill the following conditions need to apply:
Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor degree with Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), of not lower than Second Class (Lower Division) and not earned earlier than 2014. Must have completed or exempted from NYSC.
Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with credit passes in Teaching Practice and the Teaching Subjects, and not earned earlier than 2014.
Specialisation in any of the following subjects:
Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Computer Science or Information Technology
Physical and Health Education
Not more than 35 years of age.
Not currently employed or enrolled under NYSC, N-Power, or any similar programme.
How to apply
The last date to apply for this Federal Teachers’ Scheme is 24th September 2020. The process to apply is online, application can be completed through the UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION (UBEC) recruitment portal (https://fts.admissions.cloud/home).
Candidates will have to upload their credentials (listed on the site) along with their most recent passport photographs.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for the computer-based test, as determined below:
