Assistance in the recruitment and selection of potential diet interviewers.
Help train interviewers to manage the dietary component of the survey (including pre-training training, collection of diet interviews, 24-hour dietary recalls, and food samples)
Work with local guides to identify respondents.
Supervise pilot testing for dietary components of the survey.
Prepare for fieldwork as well as provide the interviewer with all the necessary survey materials.
Support the pre-training of respondents simultaneously with diet pre-trainers and community mobiles.
Monitor family diet interviewers and review the supervisor’s form after completing each diet data collection. Also evaluate the performance of the interview and give feedback.
Resolve concerns as soon as all interviews are raised.
Control data quality by checking errors during the week and after interviews and during measurements each week.
Contact the survey community (community leader and/or contact person) to make sure the survey is proceeding smoothly.
Contact field teams to coordinate group training and domestic travel programs.
Monitor the use of field tools, make sure they are in good working order and problems are reported immediately and replacement materials are provided.
Examine a high level of non-accountability between interviewing teams.
Interviewers are not replacing participants who find it difficult to communicate with other people and give all respondents 3 opportunities to respond if they are not available at the first visit.
Keep the interview team on time.
Report to the zonal coordinator within its defined geopolitical region.
BSc / HND (or postgraduate degree in related field) in Nutrition, Food Science / Technology, Community Development, or Public Health.
An employee of the above qualifying state or federal government may also apply for a role related to a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
