TSC Recruitment Replacement 2021 – The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) has announced this scheme for the recruitment and promotion of more than 10,000 teachers.

 

According to teacher recruiters, 5,000 secondary school teachers and another 1,000 primary school teachers will be appointed to permanent and pensionable posts.

 

Nancy Nazeri Macharia, head professor at TSC, said additional teachers would support the government’s policy on 100% transfer of students from primary to secondary schools.

 

After reading the budget for 2021/2022, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani indicated that the government has allocated Rs 2,500 crore for the recruitment of new teachers.

At the same time, 2,987 teachers are being recruited who have quit their jobs in secondary school education through natural teaching and retirement.

 

Only 927 teachers will be recruited to replace those who have dropped out of primary education services.

 

How to apply

Interested and eligible candidates can submit online applications through the Commission’s website www.tsc.go.ke ‘Career’ or through teacheronline.tsc.go.ke on or before July 12, 2021.

 

Teacher promotion

Makaria said another one thousand eligible primary school teachers would be promoted to teach in secondary schools.

 

They must have a P1 certificate if they want to be promoted to the post of education in secondary school and to be promoted step by step.

 

Also, the CEO of TSC also indicated that teachers seeking promotion must have a bachelor’s degree in education in two subjects.

 

“He must have earned at least a C + (plus) average grade in the Kenya Secondary Education Certificate (KCSE) or equivalent and in two academic subjects or its equivalent.”

 

Successful candidates under this category will be recruited under T-Scale 7 Grade C2 under the Teacher Career Progress Guidelines and will be posted where there are vacancies in secondary schools.
